English Translation

As a result of the decree of the Ministry of the Interior dated 1 9 January 1942, Z.l50.635/4l-L/7, the teaching staff concerned were appointed, on the basis of Section 55 of the Pragmatic Ministry of Teacher Service, as definitive teachers and as definitive principals, and as a result, at least three months from the delivery of the Decree of Appreciation, to participate in the higher compensatory allowance which they were entitled to. 3.This improvement alone is not general, but only concerns individual, but particularly severe, cases, and is also inadequate. In my view, the great importance of the German teacher's work in the Protectorate for the education of our German youth and for the work of the people would completely justify the fact that the active German teachers, who are to be regarded as pioneers of the labour of the folk and who are mostly noeh to work under the most unfavourable conditions, are the active teachers. It is therefore very regrettable that the efforts made so far in this direction have not produced any result. However, in the interests of our popular work in the Protectorate, these efforts would obviously deserve the warmest support, and this measure would, with one blow, provide a mutually satisfactory solution. ==References== This allowance would also encourage some German teachers, especially from the Sudetengau, to gladly and joyfully make themselves available for the service of German visionaries in the Protectorate and thus in the foremost front of popular work. If this, in my opinion, is the best solution for any reason, should not prove to be feasible, I would ask you to make every effort to ensure that the active German teachers in the Protectorate are granted at least one allowance of the same level as those received by the teachers in southern German border counties, according to the opinion of the Court of Justice, amounting to 200-300 RM. For the sake of this, please make every effort to grant the Protectorate's allowance, but at least to the people's day to the active German teachers in the school service, which would certainly be an important step forward.
