In the course of the verification of the fuel bearing fire in N a c h'o d, it was found that a large number of larger and smaller fuel bearings were unguarded as in Nachod. Director Eg e r, the representative for the mineral oil industry in Bohemia and Moravia, considers that the monitoring of fuel storage with a capacity of more than 100 tonnes is appropriate in terms of supply situation. For safety reasons, however, I do not think that this is sufficient, especially since the fire of a fuel store has caused a great deal of concern in the wider environment. In the case of the fire in Nachod, for example, which contained about 60 tonnes of fuel, 25 fire brigades in the surrounding area had come to the place of fire as a result of the widely visible firelight and the strong smoke development. I have therefore ordered the constant surveillance of above ground fuel storage over 25 t capacity. On 29.9.1941, as the first measure, a telex is sent out to all Oberlandrats following inhales.
