172 - 2 - As a remedy, it is necessary to ensure that the radio station Melnik is fed via a quiet network of large power reserves. While he now hangs on a ring line fed by Mirschowitz, I would like to propose that the quiet and efficient grid of the North Bohemian electricity plants, which now supplies the steelworks Becher via Doxan, be switched over to Doxane and Mirschowitz and that the supply of the entire Melnik area in the future be no longer ring-shaped, but in two radial guides with separate relay protection. In addition, I would recommend that the Central Bohemian EW should immediately equip its supply centres with selective protection. e Central Bohemians EW proposed some time ago that a special power transmission line be provided from the Mirschowitz hydroelectric power station to the transmitter. As long as the transmitter would be powered by its own turboset, an improvement could be expected. However, the operation of the power plant is heavily dependent on the Vltava water supply, so that no stable conditions can be expected for the duration of the operation. I would therefore like to advise against the construction of the special management, which consumes large quantities of valuable raw materials and, in addition, for the protectorate, especially since I am convinced that I can achieve a substantial improvement in the way described above. I would ask you to discuss with the Central Bohemian EW the questions concerning the supply of electricity to the Melnik station, the change in food conditions and the establishment of a selective farm, and to impose the strictest care on the supply to the station. I cannot resist the impression that there is not the slightest desire for these EWs to improve the supply network and that they are at least quite indifferent to the operational safety of the transmitter.* In meetings, my radio expert, Postrat Dipl. Ing. E i n b e c k , is at your disposal at any time. The Armaments Expelation Prague has received a copy of this letter. Commissioned by Dr. Hroch
