The Head of the Special Department Prague, 10 March 1943. Cultural Policy W/Kr IV Pro 125-300/43 g Secret To the Secretary of State Bico da cnics 4-Group Leader F r a n k . 8 Eing. 11. MRZ. 1943 Subject: Radio interception service. I hereby return the blue-white material sent to me for comparison and note the following to the facts: 1.) Not recorded by my interception department only the Czech freedom transmitter, which is apparently a temporally irregular shortwave broadcast from Soviet Russia. I have given instructions that at the indicated time (19.25 o'clock) it is regularly checked whether the freedom transmitter is coming in. For the time being, a more comprehensive permanent check can not be carried out with my interception personnel, but will be possible if the planned relocation of the entire interception control of the post office to Ritschan is carried out. (beginning of April?) 2.) I have compared the accompanying interception reports of the London broadcasts sentence by sentence with our own interception units and have found that our interception service cannot be described as very superficial by any means. In the broadcast of 27.2., 18.43 o'clock, some sentences are missing in our listening report, but hardly any essential thoughts. For this our translation seems to be better. In the transmission of 28.2., 6.45 o' clock, our listening account is even better, and also more complete, as well as better in the linguistic version. 3.) The staff employed by me (students and students) will be recruited to his or her qualifications -2-
