Appendix 1 German Charles University Prague. New Chairs for 1943: Faculty of Law and State Sciences: Ordinary Chair of Business Studies under special consideration of the European East and Southeast Reason: Die sich z. z. Political conditions developing in Eastern and South-East Europe will lead to close relations between these areas and the Greater German Economic Area. It is already an urgent requirement that the economic conditions and possibilities of these spaces be investigated, that the results of these consultations be made available to the relevant departments and that students be given a thorough examination of the economic issues in these areas. The inclusion of business studies in these areas in the teaching area of universities therefore seems necessary and it is probably not a university that is as suitable for carrying out this task as it is in Prague. The geographical location of Prague to these spaces, the old connections with the European countries of the east and south-east and the presence of relevant libraries in Prague are particularly favourable for this research and teaching area. If it is refrained from limiting the expenditure of this chair exclusively to Eastern and South-East Europe, it is because a solution to the special problems is impossible to solve. The great interdependence of the entire German economic life is inconceivable. Ordinary chair for economic history. Economic history is an area which presupposes the research methods common to the historian and the inexhaustible and thorough mastery of the historical auxiliary sciences. However, in the diversity of the research field, both cannot be expected jointly by an economist. At a faculty that maintains the legal and economic sciences to the same extent, the care and teaching of economic history cannot be dispensed with. Extraordinary chair for economic education. The Minister for Science, Education and Education of the Reich has commissioned the Faculty of Law and State Science in Prague to train commercial teachers.
