- 4 - I_n_d u s_t r ie. the quantity of coal available to this consumer sector is still not sufficient for the required needs, and it is therefore necessary to make monthly reductions for each economic group. In April, the quantity requested by the Central Association of Industry could only be divided by the fact that the so-called self-suspension was reduced by 7o o00 t =. It turned out that individual plants were hit very hard, so that subsequently a mitigating of the reduction had to be made. On the other hand, the coal industry's assumption that even larger fuel quantities will be consumed here without knowledge of the coal sector has been confirmed, and the allocation, at the request of both industry and syndicals (Brüx, Ostrava), will probably have to be converted into a sörtenmässi again in the coming months. In April and May, a larger number of companies were added to the coal list by the economic group. This further increases the allocation of the existing coal-fired fuel quantity. The coal branch must repeatedly note that numerous orders are transferred from the Reich to the Protectorate. SowöhI then demand these firns of the empire as well as those of the Protectorate on the basis of these imperial orders larger and also additional coal quantities. In order not to endanger the most important protectorate industry, these requirements are met only after full satisfaction of the local works. In order to be able to carry out the same measures as in the Reich also in the Protectorate in this consumer sector, it is examined by the coal industry office whether the local distribution system can be aligned with that of the Reich. The stockpiling of the sugar industry, which is already being carried out, requires such quantities in respect of the needs reported by the sugar in dustry group that by September 1942 individual types of fuel would be up to 100 % for the rest of the industry. The monthly demand of the sugar industry, which must be supplied as a supply in the summer months, amounts to approximately 62 000 tonnes for 1942/43, e.g. in hard coal, compared with a consumption of 1940/4l with about 41 000 tonnes and 194l 42 with about 36 000 tonnes. The planned closure of 5 sugar factories only results in the savings of larger quantities of inferior lignite. During the reporting period, it was again established in some cases that they have larger fuel stocks than indicated in the template. Despite constant indications that stocks and consumption figures must correspond to the truth, the industry is constantly trying to give the wrong figures. In these circumstances, it is impossible for the coal-mining office to carry out a fair distribution of existing fuel quantities. In order to remedy this situation, the economic groups were asked to draw up a file drawn up by the coal industry with the help of the data sheet drawn up at the end of 1941/42 by the individual enterprises, the quantities used in the coal economy year 1941/41 and the amounts available at the close of 1941-42 - 5 -
