- 7 - 3.)Measures: In order to obtain the estimated quantities from the syndicates, a strict ongoing review of all the numerical material of the syndications is carried out; the syndicates have been requested to report failures immediately with due justification, since it is possible to intervene during the month in question. In the coal year I942/43, the figures are still not respected. True and clear figures are obtained. In cooperation with the groups Economy, Labour and Social Affairs, Food and Agriculture, everything is tried to achieve an increase in the present production in the mines in the Protectorate. In a meeting with the small mines of the Protectorate, these were again pointed out to their tasks. In this meeting it was emphasized that also the quantities extracted must be specified exactly in the respective estimates (black trade). A particularly difficult problem with the small pits is, in addition to the question of work and the allocation of food for these workers, the issue of pricing is particularly important. It is only possible to increase production in the small mines if appropriate investments can be made. In negotiations with the Supreme Prize Authority, however, the improvement of these pits was rejected. Even the inclusion of the pits in the depreciation of profits could cause certain drawbacks here. In order to achieve a further increase in the funding, an attempt should be made to finance the necessary investments via a special fund. On the basis of the experience gained in the past winter with the necessary wagon configuration for transport, the transport facilities in the Ostrava region will now be converted in such a way that a higher number of rolling stock can be expected in the coal year I942/43. It should therefore be possible, even in the event of sudden unforeseen difficulties, to achieve an average high level of car positioning in this area. Since the distribution system is also important for a smooth fuel supply, Verbindugg was taken up with the competent authorities (wholesale and retail) and mismatches were removed immediately. In Gross-Prague in particular, complaints were made about the increase in the number of coal thefts, and the consumer complained that he was often not supplied with the entire quantity he had ordered and had to pay. In the coal year I942/43 everything is to be reviewed already in the summer months, among other things, as much coal as possible should be supplied to individual consumers so that the difficulties of winter I941/42 do not recur. April 19:2: "The Coal Year 1942/:3". - 8
