4842 - 42 - In general, I met with all interested and original bodies that these services should not only be maintained for the benefit of small farmers, but should be further developed as far as possible. It seems to me, therefore, to be an imperative of expediency and wisdom to restore Stoupal and his highly versed senior director Müller to their positions and to give them the opportunity to continue their work as a wizard, provided that Stoupel accepts the conditions set out below, which must be put in order to safeguard the German state interests. I can also make this proposal with good conscience because, despite intensive efforts, I am unable to prove to Mr Stoupal that the allegations against him, a) Mr StoUPAL has enriched himself to the detriment of the small farmers, and b) he has also, at the time of the Republic, stood up in the strongest way against the German interests, quite rightly. Zu a) : Mr. Stoupal heard officers of the secret state police in Brno told me that his investigation had revealed that Stoupel had not enriched himself. He had passed by much more - more poor like a church mouse - which seems to me excessive - and he had passed millions that he could have earned.
