- 2 - In the field of the Wehrmacht, the SS and the Party, there is a similar situation which has recently also been taken into account by all motor vehicle users. I do not agree with a general ban on the taking of women in motor vehicles, because, in increasing numbers, women's forces also carry out the work of convened men, and therefore it may be necessary for these female workers to take part in the service. In addition, experienced or newly trained women are used as drivers to free female drivers for other purposes. Although my authority has been able to significantly reduce the use of fuel through the conversion of service routes to drive with wood gas and light gas. However, the lack of new vehicles, tyres and spare parts constantly requires the greatest restriction in the use of these vehicles. I therefore still expect that motor vehicles will not be used for journeys which can be returned by public transport. I hereby inform all parties concerned that in future I will see against abuses of service cars with decisiveness. On behalf of: Mr K.H. F r a n k. State Secretary.
