At the beginning of May l.J. discussions were held in Prcssburg by the Government Committee of Deutech-Slovac on the settlement of trade-related issues and on the exchange of goods, and the following was agreed on / confidential/ : a/ cancellation of payment confirmations, mainly in the area of trade policy. - Between the German-Slovak government committee it was agreed that the so-called payment confirmations, i.e. confirmations issued by the Slovak National Bank on the payments entered into clearing from the Protectorate, will be cancelled by 1 June 1994l in Slovakia. In Slovakia, the receipts had an official rate of 6% and Slovakian exports after the Protectorate were obliged to add 1 : 1 to the request for export permissions for the Protectorates. As a result, imports of goods from the Protectorate were reduced by 6% in Slovakia and exports from Slovakia to the Protectorates increased by 6%. Having regard to the opinion of the Economic and Social Committee ('), Any importer of goods from Slovakia will be obliged to pay a 23 % surcharge in respect of special funds held by the National Bank of Bohemia and Moravia in Prague, instead of the 16 % of the amount paid so far, and to retain a corresponding export price of goods after the 20 % payment in excess of 23 % of that paid out instead of that which has been paid up to now.
