221 - 5 to the provisions in force in the Reich in the foreground of the interest. The practical implementation and application of the provisions of the 7 statements of the Minister of Industry Trade and Trade No. l45 - 15l on the use of metals, aluminium, magnesium and lead paints was particularly difficult because, on the one hand, the transitional periods for man's metals contained in the statements were far too short and, onthe other hand, companies had no authentic interpretation of the individual provisions, so that they were often in doubt as to whether or not certain objects were covered by the prohibition of use. As I expected an increased agenda in connection with these difficulties from the outset, a working session was held on 17 Feb.194l in the Central Association of Industry in Prague, the purpose of which was to achieve the greatest uniformity in the drafting of requests for exemptions and in the information activities to be carried out in this area. A further workshop was convened in Brno, which was held on Wednesday 19 February in the morning in German and after noon in Czech. After a presentation on the content and interpretation of the individual customers, the requests of the present companies were answered. Feber held a meeting of the large iron and metal companies in the premises of the office, in which in particular wage and social policy issues were dealt with. This discussion was called upon by the firms to make a comparison and a coordination of the various wage differences which were caused by the many published wage declarations in the large firms in the individual categories of workers. At this meeting it was also noted that the early trains arrive in general too late, which means that the workers do not appear in time at the workplace. It was therefore suggested that an intervention be carried out at the railway direction in order to eliminate this malady.
