The twenty years between the first and the second world wars were politically a time of struggle for the liquidation of the war and for the establishment of a new peace in the more recent democratic regimes of the European continent, but in social and economic terms they were a struggle of the newly forming political democracy for social problems and economic revolutions, which had just emerged from the previous war and which were primarily represented by the system of Soviet socialism. From the reaction against them and against the comunisism the authoritarian regimes emerged, which, by prejudicing the Mghtel of the defense of the bourgeoisie against Communism, first destroyed the poiitic nature of liberal democracy and then, since they could not otherwise adhere to the Mgoht, also into the sphere, albeit not of social and economic democracy. In the years immediately preceding the present war, in the years 1937 - 1939, we were in the midst of the struggles of the three political, social and economic systems, two of which, the left and the right, the liberal democratic Birgertum in social and economical relation were essentially undermined and politically endangered its existence in the first place by carrying it out through revolutions that eliminated the political, democratic freedoms on both sides.
