- 2 - State police arrested. An immediately initiated detailed investigation revealed the following facts: 1.) Něnec initially claimed that the review constituted to the full merely a compilation of quotations from certain books. After referring this information to the incorrectness of the writings he himself named, he truthfully admitted that the article in the present form was deliberately written by him and passed on for publication in the press. He had expected that the article would not be deleted from the Czech censors and could thus serve as proof of his political stance in the event of a Bolshevik victory. 2) Kriz admitted during his interrogation that he had noticed the difficult political significance of the review and had deliberately left it unanticipated on the pretext of overwork. Without this non-obligatory conduct, the realization of the Něnee's highly treasonous intention would not have been possible. Křiž was therefore guilty of the same highly treacherous crime as Němec. 3.) Kohlik, the responsible cultural consultant of the newspaper, should have prevented the publication of the review. In his interrogation, he admitted the inherent character of the breach of duty accused him, but denied the existence of a political intention upon admission of the review. He had read the review only in a fleeting manner because of other professional claims and had not noticed its political character. Kohlik was not able to give complete proof of this claim; however, he could not be proved the opposite perfectly. Kohlik therefore was only found guilty of grossly negligent aid to a highly treasonous company. On orders of the Higher W- and police leader Bohemia and Moravia were executed today to the atonement of their crime Němec and Křiž. Kohlik was transferred to a concentration camp." - 3 -
