KANZLEI DES STAATSPRESIDENT AON RNN L - 578/44. Prague, 19 April 1944. inisteremt Dear Ministerial Councillor! 20 APR.1944 Mrs JUDr. Eva H o r a born Wíšo asked the President of the Republic to endorse the request made in copy, which she submitted to the Minister of State on the matter of her husband Dr. Vladimir Hora. Dr. Vladimir Hora was arrested on Feber l94l and sentenced on September 4, 1942 by the Volksgerichtshof in Berlin to 15 years in prison. He served the sentence in the prison Brieg, Upper Silesia. In the prison he suffered a serious illness, was operated on and is very physically run down. Ms. Hora fears that his life may be in danger if he continues to be detained in Brieg, and therefore asks for the rest of his sentence, or at least for interruption, so that her husband can recover physically and mentally. Dr. Horan is a son of the well-known professor of the trial law Univ.Prof. Dr. Wenzel Hora, his wife a daughter of Dr. Jaromir Wíšo, senate council of the Supreme Administrative Court, who died in 1922. These two families belong to the close circle of the President of the Republic. Dr. Wišo in particular, at whose grave the President held a warm obituary at the time, was pleased with his appreciation. As proof of the good relations of the President of the State with the mentioned families, I would like to add in the annex to the concept of a letter of congratulations taken from the present file, which the President addressed to Dr. Eva Wišo on the occasion of the marriage of Dr. Vladimir Hora to the former, and whose draft he himself ransacked.
