Pilsen, 18.Nowe@ 42.Dr.WALTHER STURM REGISTERINGCOMMISSARY-THE CITY PILSEN PILSEN. RATHAUS. ANRUF 668. Ta gsaqong at the Rear p owno in Bohemia and Mahzen. Eing. 19.NOV. 1942 Mr SS-Gruppeführer Staatsekreür Karl Hermann F r a n k, Prag, Czernin Palais, Subject: Josef Ricker, Brno.- 4/nb Reference: Your letter dated 7.lo.42, ST.S.404/42. I apologize for all this, that I do not give up on this matter until today. I did not find the time to do it sooner, if I do so, because I am aware that my manifestation is likely to be of some importance to the Pg.Ricker. Ricker was organized as a Social Democrat during the Sudeten-German war period. According to what I know of him and his family from his earlier life, I suppose that this affiliation was less of an inner attitude than the groaning, "to go and go forward with time". R. has a strong need for validity and great ambition, these obviously determined his way to Šocialdemocracy. His former attitude, however, was undoubtedly ethnic. He turned into a people's circle, took a woman with an emphasis on ethnicism, and was a social democrat even after his attitude to life/never. Cmcrk note After Karlovy Vary he came as director of the red-managed hospital case, therefore he had to not only possess the membership of the social democratic party, but also carry it to the outside to the show. For this reason he probably also wanted to engage in municipal politics and for some time he was a social-democratic city representative and, if I am right, also a city council. However, this activity did not last long, I also think I can remember that his own comrades were not satisfied with him and his party work. He therefore withdrew completely from the public party activity. He did not participate in the ugliness against the German-conscious circles during his work in the city council. St. S.Xt-79a/42
