Christmas and New Year were transferred from tactical considerations of the superior military positions and had to carry out the move of the battalion against the regiment in quite a short time with a few forces, since we had already given the men away. That too had come again for a while. For it is no small matter, weapons, equipment and horses, we were a strenuous unit to carry out battalion-like of all companies with little untrained forces. But as always everything worked out in the end and at the moment we are in Tarbes between Louies and waiting for the things that will come. We will probably have to take off our uniform again in our next, expected deployment and put on our old-known green police uniform again. In this reporting period, I was able to take a l4-day vacation just before Christmas to help my family, who had been having difficulties with the evacuation. My two little girls had been infected with wheezing in that village and had become very ill. Since there was no doctor there, and this place could only be found in an i5 km away, which was impossible with the prevailing cold, I had to bring my family back to our apartment until the recovery of the little ones in Szczecin. Furthermore, the rooms in that village were too cold and the fuel allocation was too low. Under these circumstances, I thought it right to bring everyone back to our warm home and bring them in front of everyone under the constant medical supervision of our well-known Szczecin pediatrician. Of course, I am also worried about an upcoming air attack, but more important is the complete recovery of my children. Our little ones have taken the cough with them, I am rather restless, since both are very thin and have much to suffer from the constant cough. My wife had therefore, especially through the day and night watches with our children, had many worries and troubles. Now, as she wrote to me, she is fortunately much better, since the little ones are already quite healthy and are on the way to recovery. At this time she wants to go back to the village, because now everything has developed quite well, especially with regard to the heating and the health condition of our children. I myself, in order to write unmodestly of my littleness, is doing quite well in the circumstances; seeing that one has been forced to perform such a service for so long here, I would now like to end my report and hope that I have not bored you with my report, Obergruppenführer, and have not stolen your precious time from you. I ask once again to convey my most devoted thanks and greeting to your highly esteemed wife, as well as to send a most respectful greeting to General Riege, and to greet all my employees at that time in the Czernia Palace. It greets you yourself, Obergruppenführer, in grateful and faithful worship gitan inhau d bryang 4 - HauptsturmführER. /h 7n
