Betr.: The necessity of the economic integration of the Ostrau Witkowitz industrial area in the Sudetengau. I refer to the you on 29.3.d.J. Letter from the Lord Mayor of Troppau of the 28th of last month by Mr Gauleiter and Reichskommissar. The narrower industrial area of Moravia-Ostrava still includes the district of Friedek and Mistek. Due to its position, as well as from political and economic considerations, this area, which is situated in the Moravian tip of the border between the west and the east, belongs to the Silesian-North Moravian area. For this area the narrower Moravian Wit-Kowitz industrial area, i.e. the Karwin coal district in Ostrava and the Witkowitz ironworks, meant the life nerve. Recognized by the Czechs, from this industrial district the Czechization of the whole area was presented in attack and far into Silesia, for which administratively the merging of Moravia-Silesia technical ./.
